Tank Vehicles / Tankers (N)
The Tank Vehicles / Tankers (N) endorsement is required if you intend to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) that hauls cargo that exceeds 1000 lbs. or 1000 gallons.
How much does the Tankers endorsement program cost?
To become a student enrolled in ELDT Academy’s Hazmat program, ELDT Academy offers only one (1) option. Online Theory Only,
- Online Theory Only – This method is for student’s that need the ELDT Theory Training. The course is offered as an online course. This course is not required by the FMCSA. What is the process to get the Tankers endorsement?
Getting the Tankers endorsement is not an FMCSA ELDT required training endorsement, so the process is fairly simple. All you have to do is pass the the SDLA’s written exam with an 80% minimum score, and they will add the endorsement to your CDL. The FMCSA does not require formal ELDT training to obtain the endorsement.
NOTE: If you also have the Hazmat / Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement, or if you decide to add it later, the SDLA will combine the H and the N endorsements to create the X endorsement, which permits you to haul hazardous tankers.
